Ok -
I tried to put ACPI off (used pci=noacpi ; then acpi=off), used internet and external AGP ...
No results.
I even don't know if 2D Acceleration is working right.
Slowly i really begin to think, the Card and the Drivers are alright.
Perhaps it's the CPU or the AGP Slot itself... or is there a special AGP Config?
You all brought me many ideas... but since i'm a beginner... i think the card's alright..
if everything fails i'll do an BIOS "downgrade" (it's already on newest verion - perhaps a bug).
But if somehon has any idea for Kernel, BIOS, System, AGP or anything else... tell me... Please

I don't know you may want to try some of the suggestions given on this site. I like you think your driver is OK. Yet there are some parameters given you may want to try.

Have you turned off the PNP OS bios setting? Btw, if you still do kernel debugging (or profiling, for that matter), turn it off (except for the magic sysrq perhaps).

I'm running a bit out of options here. ;-) Is there someone with similar hardware and mindblowing FPS rates?

PNP Settings ... about this things i already thought.. my BIOS is newest Versoin but the Baord is still AsRock and there are very very few things to do there.... i look up to DOWNGRADE my bios again... i do not trust AsRock....
but first i'll try Driver Version 4620 with the 2.6 Kernel Patch... i heard some people made also good experiences with it... [edit] Kernel Debugging & SysRq is off ... but was ON since yesterday *g* [edit]

if ALL that does not work i take my HDD, my card and put them in my girlfriends PC ... if this not works too, i change from SuSE to Gentoo ... 'cause THEN it's SuSE's fault... i think

Today i changed from SuSE to Gentoo ... and see
THE SAME F%&$ Problem. I tried everything posted here - Driver was correctly installed. But it's still not working.
Later i'll downgrade my BIOS to get other configurations (AsRock has only few options). If this is not goin right... then some hardware may be the Problem... i think it's the Mainboard. CPU should work correctly... and i don't beleive it's the RAMs fault. But i'll take both Ram-Sticks (right spelling?) out - first bank 0 and then bank 1 ... testin it then again (god my engish is getting more worse).
I hoped till the last second i do not have to buy new hardware... but some piece here MUST be this Gremlin

[edit] RAM testet - not the Problem [edit]

Just posting to say I'm following this thread and all appears correct (subscribing too)... you've exhausted the main issues. Since the previous driver was the first to support FX cards, and the latest was basically quick fixes to that one perhaps the card does not play nicely with this driver. You may have to wait for the next one -- unless anyone can report success with the XT... (noticed another report of slow rates on a 5700.. doesn't sound good) Keep at it tho!

SuLinUX has a PNY 5900 Ultra -- says it works. An issue with the XT then? It is supposedly supported.

Yeah this may be a possibility .... *BUT*
before i had an ATI Card inside (ok the ATi Drivers are ... y'know) but even the ATi Card didn't reached the FPS and Performance it should have with the Driver ... was the same problem you can say ...

If Nvidia would say that they will publish a new driver next week i would wait ... but nobody knows, right?

It may be the Problem with the driver...
but my last Card (Radeon) had exactly the same problem. Ok before i tought it was ATi-Drivers fault ... but NOW ... ATi ... now NVidia ... a coincidence?
If yes i'm perhaps the only person with bad luck in Hardware....

48049 frames in 5.0 seconds = 9609.800 FPS
48053 frames in 5.0 seconds = 9610.600 FPS
48050 frames in 5.0 seconds = 9610.000 FPS
48054 frames in 5.0 seconds = 9610.800 FPS
47913 frames in 5.0 seconds = 9582.600 FPS
