Angry Strange problem with newest nvidia driver

Hi,
I'm having problems getting the latest driver working with
my Nvidia GeForce 4 ti 4200 agp 8x card.
After a lot of tweaking, reading etc. i got it semi working.

Its only working if I first plug my (DFP) monitor into the
CRT output on my card and then starting X. After it has loaded,
i have to plug the screen into the DFP port on the card. Then it works.

It however doesn't work if I start X with 2 screens plugged into
both the DSP and CRT, then both screens go blank.

I have tried to change the options in the device section of my
config file.
After a lot of tweaking i found out that i needed the
IgnoreDisplays option or else it would freeze my system.

The IgnoreDisplayDevices that won't freeze my system is this:

Option "IgnoreDisplayDevices" "TV,DFP"

The following freezes the computer completely

IgnoreDisplays "CRT,TV"

I'm very amazed that the following won't work:
Option "IgnoreDisplayDevices" "TV,CRT"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP"

My (semi) working device/screen sections are like this:
------------------------------------------------

Section "Device"

Option "NvAgp" "0"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "nvidia"
VideoRam 65536
VendorName "Videocard vendor"
BoardName "NVIDIA GeForce FX (generic)"
Option "IgnoreDisplayDevices" "TV,DFP"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT"
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"

EndSection

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Videocard0"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Viewport 0 0
Depth 24
Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubSection
EndSection

Section "DRI"
Group 0
Mode 0666
EndSection

Can anyone tell me what's wrong?
I've been trying to figure this out for days now but no luck

Best regards
Peter

I figured it out myself,
i upgraded to the newest kernel 2.6.6,
and it worked perfectly after compiling the nvidia drivers.

I had to add this option to my Device section though
Option "NvAGP" "2"

I forgot to leave the agpgart modules out of the kernel.

glxgears gives me these reults
in default window size: 3100FPS
in full screen : 490 FPS

Do you have the same problem symptoms as boriz or is this something else, i.e. you cannot get the drivers to work at all? Do you have another separate thread with your problem, your steps taken, and your config / installer log, etc?
