Like JaKUp, I have a 9800 (pro) with the VGA Silencer installed. The silencer makes a BIG difference. I Actually got hold of a 9800XT and it was a lot noisier than the unsilences 9800Pro. Also, the VGA Silencer doesn't fit on the 9800XT yet (perhaps newer versions do ?) so the 9800XT got ebayed.

I don't mind fan noise when I'm gaming. If the 6800U throttles the fan down enought while idle then that's good news, but I just can't fit a noisy card in my case even if it is 300% faster, I do a lot of development work.

So, the big question for me is : Does the 6800U throttle the fan ?

It is loud during bootup but once in windows it isn't a big deal...ie nothing to be concerned about.

With my 5900U when I first boot up for a few seconds it's louder then gets quiet. But when I play a game it goes back to the louder mode, but I can't hear it due to the game sound. The same thing may happen with the 6800u.

Hey Jakup, Nice card you got there, my friend.
Thats some insane memory overclocking.

I'm pretty appalled at the level of maturity going on in that Rage3D thread, and it really proves the point about the whole forum. I'm also shocked at the treatment some morons give users, at their choice of a freaking video card.
The crap Jakup took, at various forums, for his SM3 Farcry picks, was just unbelievable. Especially from idiots who've never even seen the card, let alone played on it.
It's like slagging off a car, without even seeing or driving the sod. Pathetic.

Anyway, enjoy the card, Jakup. And keep us all informed.

Apparently, it's only a week or 2, until the GT's hit the UK.
Wahoo !!

Well, here it is, in all its glory. I have just came home, haven't even installed the card yet, but here is a few pictures of the card and its packaging.

It came with a instuctions, 2 DVI-> VGA adapters, a couple of Y splitters, and a CD. The CD contains version 60.82 drivers.

Should have saved your money and bought a new digital camera! LOL ;-)

Heh, no I'm still here The reason I haven't posted is cuz I was sleeping

But the card is still alive, and I never got artifacts on the memory end. Going past 455mhz core, and it would give me artifacts. But I never really pushed the memory past 1.3ghz cuz I was scared I never saw any artifacts though. Maybe tonight I will get some balls

Right now I'm trying to fix a UT2004 problem I am having, at the start of a new round, the game hard locks as soon as the countdown starts. If I join a game in progress, it works great... until the next round starts. Very strange since it didn't do this before.

My system really needs a format however... I was gonna do it yesterday, but I was waiting for the new drivers... As soon as the new drivers arrive, I will do a clean format... things should be running better then.

Does UT2k4 hard lock for several secs and then come back or lock up the sys completely? Used to have that prob when I o'c too high. The card would basically reset itself back to default clock speeds and come back. Nvr happened on my 9800P though so its possibly drv related.

And as for Rage3d.. unbelievable. I actually thought that hardcore nVidia fanboys were worse than ATI's... guess I was wrong. Oh well.
Seems they want me to get a new camera, well tell the boys over at Rage3d I'm terribly sorry I didn't take Playboy quality pictures.

As of right now I am moving down the the 60.85 drivers.

hmmm.. it seems like it just locks up... maybe if a give it a minute it will come back... but its strange because it always happens at the same time. As soon as the countdown starts.
