I'm serious. I'm not sure if he asked about the EE or the regular U SKU though.

Well that just sucks then... I was born with a couple gifts, but neither of them are patience.

If Gateway ships an XT out on the 9th or whatever (or is it 14th now) then I'll be waiting quite a while before I buy a 6800, if I do at all. The choice is so close that I don't really care which one I get. I just know I want one. And soon.

I really hope nVidias new drivers boost farcry performance...
that doesn't sound right.. i get better fps with my x800p/3.2c with aa/af (my 3dm score is much lower @ 10900).

do you have the 1.1 patch? also, does drivers make a performance difference? perhpas using fraps has something to do with it... or perhaps you're measuring it in a particularly "hard" level?

yes, mine does.

I measured it in the first level.. as soon as you see the first baddy. And yes, I am using the 1.1 patch.. supposly the 1.0 game runs faster on 6800U cards.. I dunno, FarCry is really just a mess right now. My 9800 Pro almost ran as fast as this, its probably just driver issues though.

The game runs great when Im looking at the water and stuff.. but as soon as I move indoors, or something interesting happens... Im back to 25fps Also the graphics don't seem to look as good as my 9800pro, and has ugly banding. Probably all driver related.

But other games seem to run great.. Thief3, UT2004, I am impressed with.

says he got a 6800 ultra of the internet 2 days ago ive searched everywhere for it and noone has it at all sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo im beginning to think someone is lying i emailed a couple of places so i know that it wont be available for sometime and the reason the drivers are flaky is cause they are not supported by the 6800
a friend of mine is beta testing the 6800 and they wont even give him upgraded
drivers for it
i may be new here but unfortunatly i know people that can verify this stuff
so please tell me where to order from

You would think that the Beta test would be over after the product shipped.

The 6800U defaults to NV3x path in FarCry with the current patch from CryTek! This, in combination with the driver bugs, mean that the experience is quite sub-optimal on the 6800U right now. I am quite sure that the SM 3.0 add-on in FarCry with DirectX 9.0c support will be "the way it's meant to be played" on the 6800U

Thief 3 runs good? It runs like DOG POOP on my 9800P. What res/aa you using? I want to play it at 60 fps at 1280x1024x4AAx8AF.
