About raven-shield? I have no clue.. the fps are really jumpy... I think I just got it at a bad spot. Not that it ran great anyways... it was 4xaa/8xaf... 1600x1200... Im sure if I toned it down it would run much better.

It´s the Deus Ex 2 engine which explains it all. It looks crap and plays like crap. Quite impressive that the 6800 ULTRA can put such numbers anyway in this game. It´s supposed to be optimized for consoles but from what I heard it don´t impress on the Xbox either.

Next time they need to license a real game engine IMHO they obviously don´t have the skill

I saw where you said you went back to the 60.85 drivers. Have you tried the 60.72 drivers, and 3dmark2003? Just curious if there is a difference in the score.

I'd guess ~200 points less with 60.72, no biggie.

Well it seems the 61.11 drivers are the only ones that work for me with the 6800U in Far Cry without giveing a heap of corrupted shadows and textures. The 60.85 were appalling in the game. I must say my 9800XT looked much sweeter in this game than my new 6800U......I hope to hell that nvidia can fix these issues in Far Cry with a new driver release

Good going,

I am waiting on the GT and playing with a X800Pro in the meantime. It definitely clocks more than 8k in 3dmark03. I got 9791 on my first run, and 11279 on an OC. It has more room left but I am not frying the card this early. Ran it at 520/1120 without a hitch. I may push more later.

What did you think of Painkiller? I started playing last night and it gave me the creeps Painkiller is one of the most terrifying games I have played.

I ran a series of performance tests at the beginning of the first level. Shortly after the start of the game, a horde of zombie warriors rise from the cemetary and approach the player. I used FRAPS to log the frame rate as I stood my ground and took all of them out using the shotgun

AA and AF were set to application controlled in the driver. All in-game graphics settings were at their maximum level with anisotropic filtering enabled. AA was set in the game. EAX3 sound was enabled. Athlon 64 3400+ CPU.

1024x768 - No AA - Avg: 82.563 - Min: 59 - Max: 113

1024x768 - 2X AA - Avg: 78.557 - Min: 59 - Max: 104

1024x768 - 4X AA - Avg: 70.344 - Min: 52 - Max: 98

1280x960 - 4X AA - Avg: 56.021 - Min: 42 - Max: 73

1600x1200 - 2X AA - Avg: 44.072 - Min: 35 - Max: 59

1600x1200 - 4X AA - Avg: 40.822 - Min: 30 - Max: 56

2048x1536 - 2X AA - Avg: 32.966 - Min: 25 - Max: 44

1920x1440 - 2X AA - Avg: 35.414 - Min: 25 - Max: 47

1920x1440 - 4X AA - Avg: 26.719 - Min: 20 - Max: 35

Painkiller is a hard-core first person shooter and becuase the action is hectic, gameplay is much better with an average frame rate that is close to 60. I completed the first level playing at 1280x960 with 4X AA.
