I kept mine on all the time and didn't notice any difference. Maybe its because I never turned it off???

Just got my 6800 Ultra off E-Bay this morning =) LOVE This card!!

One thing though, when I tried to install the 61.21 drivers it gave me a list of cards asking which one was mine and there was no 6800 series listed. Infact EVERY other NVIDIA card was listed. When you installed did it just know you had a 6800 right off the bat?

Oh sorry, my question was to JackUp who mentioned running the 61.21 drivers. Haven't caught up on this thread since last night.

The card cost me $600 even. Kinda high yes, but California sales tax to a $500 purchase would end up over $540, and besides I have the card running in my computer this very moment .

Thing is I just put a small bid in when the auction for this card first started, but the guy won the auction was insane and wanted the seller to just send the card to him in Russia first, then he would pay him with a personal check. The guy doing the auction looked at the other people who bid, saw my positive feedback and offered the card directly to me at that price. In a way I lucked out.

U guys that pay over 300 bucks for a video card are just plain insane@!!! U do realize that in about a month or maybe 2 the same card will be 40~50~60% lower in cost?lol

A GT will prolly be 90% of the ultra perf and be around $250 within the same timeframe!

sorry just had to get that out there

Reguardless nice to see some feedback on retail cards and im looking forward to me shiny new GT. I really feel like were back in the TNT, G2 and even G4 days where alot of performance is yet untapped with these monsters. game on!

i agree with you, but only because i dont have the money to burn. I will be getting a GT myself, but if i did have the money (like most of the enthusiasts here) then i would get the ultra. They want the best possible performance, and if you want that, you gotta pay for it

Well that's your cup of tea. I always upgrade to the high end cards and then sell my older one to friends at a good price. Works out well for both parties.

No it wont. A top end card has never dropped 50% cost in 2 months, let alone one.

The 5950U's and 9800XT were still around $450 (most still are) 6 months after they came out.

Some people have more money to spend, dont fault them for it.

True the cards get cheaper a bit after a while but if I wait too long my old card won't be worth as much when I sell it.

I agree. I am sick of people saying you have to be "rich" to spend $500.00. I am not rich by any stretch of the word, and $500.00 doesn't mean squat to me.
