On my radeon I would play 1600x1200. Ocassionaly I would use 2xaa.. but more often then not I would not. Now I'm able to crank it up to about 4xaa/8xaf and still get very playable framerates... Im still liking the 2xaa/4xaf setting though.

The fan is however, alot louder than Im used to on my VGA silencer, and the 2d quality is.. different. I immediately noticed it upon booting into windows... Not really better or worse.. just different. Seems like it has a darker tint.. could just be a driver quirk.

he was using 9800pro 128, if you looked at his benchmark scores those obviously aren't from the 6800ultra, can't wait to see his benchies though

You may have adjusted the 2D color/gamma at one point in the ATi driver.

Oh ok, then what he said makes sense. I thought he had a X800 Pro like I do at the moment. UT2K4 is very playable at 1600x1200 with 4XAA/8XAF.

Nvidia is really pissing me off with their inability to get these cards into retail channel, especially since they "paper launched" a few weeks before ATI. Well for the first time in a long time I can honestly say that you can't really go wrong going with either camp.

Sometime very soon, jAkUp, you are going to have to join Video Card's Anonymous.

That UT screenshot looks terrible.. looks like its dithered down to 256 colours or something.. seriously did you fiddle with the image or something? It looks bad.

I am guessing it got degraded when the picture got compressed, or I hope so or I am wondering about Nvidia's speed optimizations!

obviously compressed to fit here... note he states res @ 16x12 and the image is certainly not that...

/me resists urge not to stalk jakup to steal any computer parts that fall out of his system...
