Not sure how you arrive at your conclusion at this stage of the game since neither company has shipped reviewable retail boards nor drivers....

True but so far i see that the 4 aa including the same af on both the x800 and 6800 shows the 6800 and x800 neck and neck with each other but sometimes the 6800 also comes out on top. Take into account that no x800 card can do trillianair and the 6800 cards are doing it and the x800 cards are only on billionaire filtering thus meaning that a trillionaire 6800 is the same speed as a billionaire x800 with trillionaire enabled the x800 will take a performance hit. Now u cant really compare the cards after 4 x aa because ati goes to 6 and nvidia to 8 but so far that is my conclusion on what will happen

It depends which way you look at it. IMO, I'd rather use ATI's 6xAA anyday over NVIDIAs 8X AA (most cases where alpha textures arent being used). Because it offers in most cases better IQ and the performance hit is not nearly as big, so in that case I'd compare the two. It's just personal preference though.

I'm not sure how you arrived at the conclusion that trillinear filterring runs on the 6800U runs faster than trillinear filtering on the X800...but then again I have not been following all the stories for the most part...I'll have to look into that.

Well, i posted on another forum one that i have been a member on for quite a long time and i used a bit of the facts that muya stated about the nv 40 and r420 AA. I gave him credit for them too, dont worry. IF you want the name of the thread just pm me because i dont wanna be banned for posting a "advert".
