Thanx Jackup for all the exaples, I really appriciate it, it's interesting to see the NV40 is sometimes faster in the R300 patch.

Jakup, under heavy load what do the temps usually reach at your overclocked setup on the 6800 ultra? Is it pretty high because i heard one of the reasons that nvidia had delayed the release was because the cores where overheating at 400 mhz on the mass made ones.

Well I'm not overclocking it anymore for the fact that UT2004 freezes no matter what clockspeeds I set it too, besides default... Its too much of a pain to overclock and not overclock... But when I was OC'ing, the highest I ever saw the temperature go was 65 degrees C

*edit* In fact the new mode should increase your FPS by at least 100% compared to the old pattern

crazy, 64 fps

This card would sell like hotcakes if it was available in larger amounts.

anyway, great decision by nvidia to change 4xSSAA/2xMSAA to 2xSSAA/4xMSAA. Now textures still get anti-aliased (unlike ATI cards) and at the same time performance is nevertheless awesome.

Do you have to do anything in particular to get UT2004 to freeze? When my 6800 ultra arrives in a few hours I'll give UT2004 a try and see if I have similar results.

My 6800 UE clocked at 450/1.10 as default idles at around 55c-57c and goes into the mid 60's during gaming. When i first got it the airflow in my case wan't that great and the temp went up to 70c until i improved the airflow. Actually i have it running now at 450/1.15 with similar temps.

Man, I have read this whole thread through and am really looking forward to getting a 6800GT or ULTRA. More than likely I will get the GT and push it as far as I can go with water or thermo electric cooling. My 9700pro has served me well, but it looks like its time to move on to newer technology. Keep up the good work jackup!
