Or maybe he used these 61.34 FWs.

Right here, No word on issues/performance as we have not tried them yet but these supposedly support SM3.0 features and MIGHT require DX9.0C to work properly. Highly recommended for nV40 card family users...

This is what AnteP said at B3D regarding the Forceware v61.34 and newer drivers:

Quote:
newer drivers certainly fix up sm3 performance in sm2.1 so no problems there anymore

though 61.34 doesn't seem all that great yet there are a few later sets which perform really good and seems to have even less bugs than 61.34

I'm starting to like my 6800UE more every minute

running it at 475/1180 right now with the 61.51 drivers and performance/IQ is simply great

can't wait for the next far cry patch to see what performance/IQ is like

Could take a while to load

OMG, you got 30 FPS at 1600*1200 with 16x AF(FULL Trillinear)and 8x AA in Far Cry while running R300 mode. 8x AA(even the one with only 2x supersampling) kills 6800U performance. This is AMAZING. I'm very impressed. Although I think X800 XT's 6x AA is better overall than NV40's 8x AA NV40's 8x AA requires A LOT more work. Such high performance compared to X800 XT benchmarks makes me want a 6800 U non-extreme or 6800 U extreme.
