Hi
I have 2 nvidia cards installed on my machine. One is PCI nvidia MX440 and the other one is AGP FX5600 dual head. I enabled twinview for FX5600 and it works fine. However the log returns the following message: (WW) NVIDIA: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:1:10:0) found and my pci card cannot be actived. The driver is 5336. XFree86 Version 4.3.0.1 and OS is debian sid. I have attached XF86Config-4.txt XFree86.0.log.txt lspci.txt in attachements. Thanks so much for the answers |

From what I can tell, you have the BusID wrong for the PCI card.
Line should read: BusID "PCI:1:10:0" I never thought about the whole tri-view thing. Interesting! You could get rid of the section for your dell monitor, since I am assuming that is your second monitor under twinview. FBDev entries aren't being used by the driver. Here's my TwinView setup: Section "Monitor" Identifier "Monitor0" VendorName "Monitor Vendor" ModelName "Gateway VX700A" HorizSync 60.0 - 75.0 VertRefresh 75.0 - 75.0 EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "NV AGP" Driver "nvidia" VendorName "nvidia" BoardName "NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200(generic)" Option "TwinView" "True" Option "TwinViewOrientation" "RightOf" Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "30-96" Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "60-120" Option "MetaModes" "1024x768@1024x1024,1280x1024;1280x1024,1280x1024; 1024x768,1024x768" BusID "PCI:2:0:0" EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "NV AGP" Monitor "Monitor0" DefaultDepth 24 SubSection "Display" Depth 8 Modes "800x600" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 16 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "1152x864" "1024x768" EndSubSection EndSection First monitor is a 17", second is a 19". Running triview with a PCI card may require Xinerama, or having your PCI as a seperate x-server. I have a PCI card I can test with, but I don't have another monitor!. Other than these stabs, I can't be of much more use. Good luck! |
