Default Problems with Two Monitors

Hi

i have a Nvidia 900XGL and two Monitors (one 21" and the second 17") WHile booting only the big Monitor is active because he is on input 1, when using nv everything is normal and the x server is also on monitor 1 BUT when i change the Driver from nv to Nvidia the x server starts the small Monitor not the Big One and i don't know why...has anybody a idea?
The Option "TwinViewOrientation" doesn't help me iv'e tested it already...and i can't change the cables because i know the monitor 1 is on input 1 and i need that configuration in windows, this must be a problem on my XF-86Config file i think!

Any help would be gr8t!!!
thanks

I can not work out exactly what the problem is based on your post.

You should be able to have a single X desktop spread across the two monitors (next to each other, either way round)

Is that what you want ?

your config file is for the nv driver and appears to have none of the necessary components to run in Twinview.

Please read the README file from NVidia for the driver release you are using.

Hi!!!

Yes when everything works fine i want to usw TwinView later but TwinView is not the Problem i think.
I simply wanna use nvidia driver starting the xserver on monitor 1 (like the nv driver does) and not on the small one. It's not necessary that my desktop is arranged over 2 monitors for now i simply want to do some bugtesting. I can't understand why nvidia starts x on my small monitor while the nv driver does not! any idea?

I belive the only way of dealing with dual monitors (on a single card) is via twinview.

but saying that there is the APPENDIX R: CONFIGURING MULTIPLE X SCREENS ON ONE CARD in the README file so you could have your xsession one the required screen although might end up witha spare one on the other screen

think about twinview, its is reasonably easy to setup and once you get it working you will never look back.

yes TwinView is definatly the right way to handle two monitors
do you have an idea how to make the big monitor the first first screen with twinview? atm the little one is the first screen (the panel opens there and so on) with TwinViewOrientation i can't find a solution...

if you get twinview(massive X session across two monitors) working then the TwinViewOrientation should work fine.
