Hi, and sorry for my bad english. Ok, everything was fine with my system: Dual PIII550, 768MB Ram, BX Chipset, Suse Linux 9.1 including a fine working 3dsupport. So today i´ve upgraded to 1024MB of Ram. Which I need for some Databases. So everything seems to be fine! But everytime X starts, or even the test mode of the SaX2 the screen blanks out, except for tiny little Lines on the very bottom. The Computer completely crashes. Only hard reset is an option GREAT. With the 2d driver everthing works fine. So I suppose with the hardware is everything right. What can I do? Having to chose between Ram or 3d is not really an option! Also to take out Ram before playing! Pls help! Thx Cpt_Chaos1978 |

try pass lower memory (es 512 Mb) to the boot option of the kernel (edit lilo.conf or grub.conf file)

My system didn't recognise the change from 512MB to 1GB until I recompiled the kernel for larger ram. No stability problems with the under-reported ram tho (32 bit Debian).
