Nvidia driver don't compile on mandrake 10 kernel 2.6.3-13mdkenterprise. I have instaled the sources. The info:
[root@est154 src]# uname -a Linux est154 2.6.3-13mdkenterprise #1 SMP Tue May 18 14:22:10 EDT 2004 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux [root@est154 src]# ls -la /usr/src total 16 drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 jun 14 15:39 ./ drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4096 jun 11 19:15 ../ lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 jun 14 15:35 linux -> linux-2.6.3-13mdk/ drwxr-xr-x 20 root root 4096 jun 14 15:35 linux-2.6.3-13mdk/ drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 jun 11 18:55 RPM/ [root@est154 src]# cat /var/log/nvidia-installer.log nvidia-installer log file '/var/log/nvidia-installer.log' creation time: Mon Jun 14 15:24:34 2004 option status: license pre-accepted : false update : false force update : false expert : false uninstall : false driver info : false no precompiled interface: false no ncurses color : false query latest driver ver : false OpenGL header files : false no questions : false silent : false XFree86 install prefix : /usr/X11R6 OpenGL install prefix : /usr Installer install prefix: /usr kernel source path : (not specified) kernel install path : (not specified) proc mount point : /proc ui : (not specified) tmpdir : /root/tmp ftp site : ftp://download.nvidia.com Using: nvidia-installer ncurses user interface -> License accepted. -> No precompiled kernel interface was found to match your kernel; would you li ke the installer to attempt to download a kernel interface for your kernel f rom the NVIDIA ftp site (ftp://download.nvidia.com)? (Answer: No) -> No precompiled kernel interface was found to match your kernel; this means that the installer will need to compile a new kernel interface. -> Kernel source path: '/usr/src/linux' -> Performing cc_version_check with CC="cc". You may find suggestions on fixing installation problems in the README available on the Linux driver download page at www.nvidia.com. I have instaled de source: [root@est154 src]# urpmi kernel-source ya está todo instalado ¿How to resolve this? Thanks. |

extract the run package with the -x option, then go into the directory and do
make install SYSSRC=/usr/src/linux-2.6.3-13mdk Make sure you have downloaded the latest kernel source from Mandrake (the RPM will unpack the source in /usr/src/linux-2.6.3-13mdk) Modify your XF86config-4 file according to the readme/release notes. You might want to check if the nvidia.ko file has been copied into the right /lib/modules/XXXX kernel module tree. If you run the 2.6.3-13mdk kernel the module should be in /lib/modules/2.6.3-13mdk/kernel/drivers/video/ good luck Chera Last edited by bekker; 06-14-04 at 12:49 PM. |
