-> No precompiled kernel interface was found to match your kernel; would you li
   ke the installer to attempt to download a kernel interface for your kernel f
   rom the NVIDIA ftp site (ftp://download.nvidia.com)? (Answer: No)
-> No precompiled kernel interface was found to match your kernel; this means
   that the installer will need to compile a new kernel interface.
-> Using the kernel source path '/usr/src/kernel-headers-2.4.18-bf2.4/' as
   specified by the '--kernel-source-path' commandline option.
-> Kernel source path: '/usr/src/kernel-headers-2.4.18-bf2.4/'
-> Performing cc_version_check with CC="cc".
and before you ask

gcc /cc version = 2.95.4

Is that the complete installer log? Looks like the error is missing... if you can get actual copy/paste output of the error it might help. Also, you may not be trying to build with the complete kernel sources... this installer needs more than the typical 'kernel headers'.. though I'm not familiar with building it on debian.

eh...I am having the same problem. I can't get any logs, however, because I can't get online due to wireless driver issues
(dualboot)

that was the complete log but it also gives me this error
(make : *** [select_makefile] Error 1) and then tells me to look in the log

btw if i use the kernel source dir it does accectly the same
here is the log when installing with kernel source

Code:
nvidia-installer log file '/var/log/nvidia-installer.log'
creation time: Tue Jun 15 19:29:33 2004

ERROR: The kernel header file
       '/usr/src/nvidia-kernel-src-1.0.2880//include/linux/kernel.h' does not
       exist. The most likely reason for this is that the kernel source path
       '/usr/src/nvidia-kernel-src-1.0.2880/' is incorrect. Please make sure
       you have installed the kernel source files for your kernel; on Red Hat
       Linux systems, for example, be sure you have the 'kernel-source' rpm
       installed. If you know the correct kernel source files are installed,
       you may specify the kernel source path with the '--kernel-source-path'
       commandline option.
ERROR: Installation has failed. Please see the file
       '/var/log/nvidia-installer.log' for details. You may find suggestions
       on fixing installation problems in the README available on the Linux
       driver download page at www.nvidia.com.
note nvidia kernel was distibuted by debian (same error as linux kernel source)
