Ok, I tested 4k stacks and it didn't work. So I'm no different than any of you Unless 4k stacks gives noticeable performance increases it isn't a big deal.

Just throwing in my info.
Athlon XP 1900, nForce 2, GF4/4400, FC2, 2.6.7: PASS.
Dual Athlon MP 2400, AMD760MP, GF5900, FC2, 2.6.7: FAIL. Machine hard locks. (44.96, 53.36)
Dual Athlon XP 1900, AMD760MP, GF4MX/440, FC2, 2.6.7: FAIL. Machine hard locks. (44.96)
Celeron 733, VIA Apollo Pro, GF5200, FC2, 2.6.7: FAIL. Machine hard locks. (44.96, 53.36)

All machines (Well, except the VIA chipset'ed Celeron, which, being VIA, was never too stable...) were (and are now) running just fine with 2.6.6. (Vanilla)

Cheers,
Gilboa

In kernel 2.6.7, the 5336 driver hangs the keyboard within XFree86.

Restarting the X (using the mouse to click on the "Restarting X" option of KDM) causes the keyboard works.

Restarting X again causes the keyboard hangs again.

My mobo is a MSI K7N2G-ILSR, with nVidia nForce-2 chipset. I'm using the nVidia internal graphics port (integrated in the mobo).

Kernel 2.4.25 and 5336 works perfectly.

Do not use 4k stacks, that option is incompatible with the nvidia drivers!

I should add that in all my tests, regparm and 4Kstacks were disabled.

I don't use it. My kernel config includes:

# CONFIG_4KSTACKS is not set
# CONFIG_REGPARM is not set

And my keyboard doesn't work with X, yet
Greetings.

Why would this happen when I've compiled the same version number without a problem before. This is a new installation of SuSE since the last time I've tried.

The awfull badness problem is still here :> .Nvidia drivers are unstable in my system with all the 2.6.x kernels I have tried, including 2.6.7.This is a common problem and I have found NO solution yet.I think the problem is worse with nforce motherboards.I have an nforce 1 chipset with integrated GPU

Default Re: Kernel 2.6.7 is out--good news ! 2.6.7 working with old driver !

Per the advice on this forum, I went to http://www.minion.de/, and downloaded
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5328-pkg0.run and installed it. Viola ! I am back in business. 5336 is just broken !
