Default Problem with sound on 2.6.6

Hi,
I am a long (long) time MS user switching to Linux. (Very new)

I have an Abit NF7-M mobo with the NForce2 chipset. I just installed Debian Sarge 2.6.6 from debian.org. Seems everything is working except my sound. I had a look at the syslog record and this is what I see about the sound;

Sorry for the monster paste but I'd really like to get this fixed. I read while researching these forums that there are sufficient drivers in 2.6.6 to run the sound chip so I can't figure out why it won't work. Please explain any suggestions in detail. (I'm that new to Linux!)

Thanks,

Jim

First reaction is that it is working..... it may be the audio level is muted. Use alsamixer or xmixer to set volume.

I don't think the irq 20 stuff has any bearing on your sound. (BTW, my mobo is NF7-S v1.1 )
