OMG, the NV4x has 16x SSAA. Can you test it, ChrisRay? It's only usable in D3D.

but 16x SSAA is overkill and useless in games.

It might be useable in old PC games and of course emulated games.

As I said, The old 16x is there but is only supportedwithin OpenGL. But the OGSS pattern is only functional in Direct3d.

Yup. It's the new 16x. It only appears functional in Direct3d. I am adding the results today. I just hadnt got around to it yet. As I was testing its functionality yesterday. I wanted to be able to have a conclusion by the time I uploaded it.

Hmm, According to 3Dcenter the new 16x is pure supersampling. Is the site wrong? So basically 16x pure SS is unusable?

Need a Registry hack to activate it currently. Most of these modes need a registry hack to enable. Problem is they are difficult to enable with current riva tuner. Once I get some feedback from undwinder. I hope to be able to show everyone how to enable every mode.

This mode is beautiful. I am adding the results and conclusion to it within the hour.

P.S. The Control Panel However does recognise the mode like it did the old 16x

Update. Nvidias new 16xS has been included in the review. The Image Quality absolutely amazing. Be sure to check out the Unreal Tournament 2003 shot running 16XS AA/16xAF

It sharpens the textures and provides un challenged edge removal to anything I have ever seen to this date.

I am going to enable it for my Geforce FX 5900 and see how the same pattern compares.

I have a feeling I have seen the 16x mode on the 5900. And its broken

Ok... I've got the new Rivatuner. How do I enable the 16xS mode? Can we just edit the rivatuner config again?
