excuseme, can you explain me what driver have you used for get the results?

i was curios to see the improvements on the AA 8x from 61.77 to the latest ones.


and about doom3, far cry and counter strike source, if it can be used by these games ccould you or somebody tell me how do they permorm with AA 8x / AF 0x
?

Yes, I hope to have it up tonight, since I have a GT, I have to change my entire performance analysis ect.


Also like to note I have found something peculiar about 4x9tap (4xQuincunx). It doesnt appear to be causing additional performance hit. As if if the post processing is now being done on ramdac of the 6800 series

Ok all the main page has been updated, Included the new 16x SS mode, Also added Quincunx and 4x9tap. 4x9tap seems to be doing its post processing on ramdac now so theres no performance hit from 4x 0GMS like previous GPUS.

I'd like to point out I'm not a big fan of the 4x9tap/quincunx methods, Which is why I originally left them out, Also I am not certain there effect is easily seen in screenshots, However its obviously seen on the AAwheel.png files.



Check the beginning for graph updates.

Hmm Nvidia needs 3rd mode of AA right now its 2xAA is ok 4xAA ok and then all others modes sudden drop in performance , ATIs 6xAA is better at that point.

The Sample pattern I think is misleading. Nvidia cards cannot apply a additional multisample unless they take a pixel pass to do it. (notice the multisample isnt surrounding the texture sample)., In this case, I noticed the broken old 8xS doesnt do that either, It looks worse than 4xS..

I didnt take a screenshot of it because it just looks like 4x OGSS in actual games. I was under the same opinion that it might look better but it doesnt. Best suggestion is to compare it to 4xS.


P.S. I think it might be time to file a bug report if this is occuring on FX hardware.

I'm not sure I understand. But there is clearly a quality difference between old 8x in each of the drivers for FX cards. See http://rootshell.be/~h4ck3d/old8x.htm

I agree. I am going to report it right now because I want my old 8x back. The new driver's 8x AA modes look horrible on FX cards. Hopefully nV will hear my plea.

Well its broken So lets hope they fix it, I was simplysaying the new 8x looks predominately worse than the old 8x, And it doesnt appear to be doing nearly as much anti aliasing. When I said there was a quality difference I merely noted it was inferior

I'll be sure to report this issue myself. getting it fixed for FX users will probably get it working for 6800 users.
