I only messed with the ogl2brick sample program, please note my version broke the cube so once it starts you have to hit 't' to change to a different model.

I have attached my modified source to this message.

You can get the original samples (and a whole lot more) from:
http://developer.3dlabs.com/openGL2/downloads/index.htm
thanks again!

best,

Heya! I checked out the new driver this afternoon and it is fine for 2d. But when I start an opengl game my pc complains about missing gl_extensions ... so the games mostly won't start. In Quake3 I can play the game ,but (possibly because of the thingy described above) the whole graphic is screwed up very bad. Is it just me? I run a gentoo 2400.1 Linux machine with a GF4-Ti4200 Card in it.
When I reinstall the 5336 driver, everything is fine again...
Anyone else having trouble with the new driver in games?

So the question is, what other goodies can I fit in here (the temp thing was one I wouldnt mind at all)
The temperature view in nvidia panel is only availible on the FX/N40 line I believe.

Nope, but I will try now... this is what Quake3 says to my new drivers :

Update:
Just upgraded to the newest ebuilds 6106 for nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx and typed opengl-update nvidia ... now it runs! Everything is fine and the new driver made my machine a bit faster ... thx NVIDIA!

Just as I think nVidia have sorted out the Linux drivers with regard to TV-Out (been dodgy since 4663), they then break 1024x768 for the TV-Out:

(II) NVIDIA(0): Not using default mode "1024x768" (hsync out of range)
(WW) NVIDIA(0): Not using mode "1024x768" (not a valid TV mode)
(**) NVIDIA(0): Validated modes for display device TV-0:
(**) NVIDIA(0): Default mode "800x600": 40.0 MHz, 37.9 kHz, 60.3 Hz
(**) NVIDIA(0): Default mode "640x480": 25.2 MHz, 31.5 kHz, 60.0 Hz
(II) NVIDIA(0): Virtual screen size determined to be 800 x 600

This is on an unaltered XF86Cfg-4. The same file has been running since 4363!!

This should have been fixed in the newest kernel versions (2.6.6/2.6.7) by adding an additional wait, but it still doesn't work for me.
The solution I use is starting a program named "testgart" before I run X. Testgart runs into the same timing bug that X would, but it doesn't crash the system. After that, X should run smoothly (all with agpgart that is)

Good Luck
No luck unfortunally, I run the program, it does 2 tests, which it passes.

seems like acpi support is not stable yet:

Jul 1 22:57:06 eabin kernel: Could not suspend device 0000:02:00.0: error -1

when suspending from X with
echo 4 >/proc/acpi/sleep

without X and after rmmod nvidia everything works as expected....

edit: found some more strange logging output:
Jul 1 23:33:39 eabin kernel: NVRM: unknown acpi event: 4

we don't currently support suspend to disk (working on that), but do support suspend to ram. try using a '3' instead of a '4'.

I have a Ti4200 running in twinview mode. the 5336 drivers worked perfectly, the 6106's won't even let me start XFree86. Anyone experienced similar problems?

The two important lines are:
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to get the number of CRTCs on board
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

However, here is my XFree86.0.log: http://qasr.mine.nu/~leith/XFree86.0.log
And my config: http://qasr.mine.nu/~leith/XF86Config-4

I'm running Debian sid.
