Default nVidia GeForce 4 Ti + EPoX 8RDA+

hi there...

so begin, i will explai the problem, to those that don't know it yet:

i download and install nvidia drivers, chance the XFree86 config file, but whe i try to startx X the computer "hangs" and the unique thing i can see is a black screen (YES, fully black! no trash, no nvidia logo... only a black screen)... i alteady tried waiting some minutes... but it seems to last forever....

i have seen a lot explanations over a lot of foruns over www... but none of them seems to work here: disable APM, ACIP, APIC, Fast Writes... none of this helped out...

is it an official bug? does it has a correction? can anyone help me??
if anyone that has this same motherboard made it... PLEASE, tell me HOW!!

thaks to everyone,
Pedro Henrique
