Default 1600 by 1200 Max settings with sports games?

Ok I realize it will be hard to play games like Farcry or Doom 3 at 1600 by 1200 at max settings with the 6800 GT. But what about games like Madden or MVP? Would I be able to play those kinds of games at 1600 by 1200 with max settings and still get goof frame rates?

Not too sure about Madden nor MVP, but I am getting very good framerates in Tiger Woods 2004 in 1600x1200x32 with Maximum rendering settings and a 6800GT....

6800 GT playing far cry at 1600x1200:

very playable.

pics from xbit labs.

edit: as for doom3 at 1600x1200? the gt will probably laugh and ask for more. try 2048x1536. 32 "virtual" pipelines is definately going to help out the 6800's.

I can tell you for the short time I had my GT 1600x1200 with 4xAA and 16xAF was not playable, not at 35-50fps anyways. 1600x1200 with 2xAA and 8xAF runs Far Cry great 35-60 fps all the time. Im sure sports games are less demanding then Far Cry so 1600x1200 with everything maxed should be fine.

eVGA 6800 GT using 61.34

1600x1200 4xAA/8xAF, all game settings maxed

nba2004 (1 quarter)
Avg: 62.861 - Min: 49 - Max: 301
* not sure where the 301 comes from, might want to look at min here

madden2004 (each team had the ball once)
Avg: 59.042 - Min: 44 - Max: 63

mvp2004 (1 inning)
Avg: 46.054 - Min: 40 - Max: 61

TW2004 (Bethpage - Black, 1 hole)
Avg: 63.452 - Min: 28 - Max: 157
Edit: Seems the first hole was an easy one for the card. The 2nd hole of the same course I'm dipping into the teens quite a bit. It does fine as long as you're on the fairway but get into the rough or around a lot of foilage and the framerate drops quite a bit.
