Thats a very good point. However I am worried that if I do find that killer mod and want to play it on-line then I may have to in order to play. I have played Normal FarCry a few times on line..a bit laggy but fun And I really dont get interested in playing a game again. However if it had co-op working then yea it would be lots of fun....

Yeah, after I posted that and then thought about it some more and I don't think I'd be all that happy with that solution either. Your point is a good one but even without considering that, I'd prefer to run the latest versions of games. So, I guess it would just be an emergency fallback position. Maybe it'll be a moot point. That is, unless the performance drops over 10% a lot of the time it might be hard to detect during gameplay anyway.

From Veridian3 at DriverHeaven:

"I've just finished speaking to Crytek, they will be releasing a build of patch 1.2 today which does not cause issues on the (Radeon) X800."

I was beginning to wonder if nVidia had stuffed a little extra money into CryTeks pockets to leave that major bug on ATI hardware. Patches are suppose to fix things not break them.

Mike, you've made my day!!!!

Actually I respect Crytek for fixing the X800 issues before release.

Someone on Driverheaven said the bug that causes orange and yellow leaves on trees that show up on the Boat level on X800 cards wasn't fixed. I guess we will find out here in a short bit.

Oh, heading out to Fry's in Austin here - I will let you know if I see any 6800 cards while I am there. If there are any Ultras they may have one less when I walk out of there!

or Perhaps.. Fp32 precision makes speculars reflections more thinner and more precise,in that case it will not be possible to have 100% identical speculars ,because NVidia and ATI support diferent precisions..

Wow - I just laid my fingers on six boxes of BFG 6800GT OC's here at the Fry's in Austin. If I didn't already have a X800XT PE I would of been all over one or if it had been the Ultra version. If someone really wants one of these cards and is in driving range of Austin it may be worth your while!

Price is $399.99 plus tax

Sorry to go off-topic.

So still no patch yet? Geez. It must not be coming out today.
