Now what exactly is it with MP_AIRSTRIP that benefits ATI cards so much? What kind of shaders are being used there that the NV40s have a hard time with? Same with mp_mangoriver.

Having never played far cry I just didn't know if ATI was faster (with AA and AF off) because those levels were using cerain PS2 effects heavily or what...

WHEW!!

Thanks Chris, NV40, ETC.

I pre-ordered my BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra OC knowing that the ATI card was often faster in games that are out right now. But I bought this card believing that the next-gen features like PS 3.0 and HDR might be what I need to have to last into next year.

I'm glad I spent my 500 bucks on the right card.

Seems SM3.0 really helps out in AA and AF situations. man thats coo...only if I had a nv40.

SWEET!!! Man I'm so excited right now.. so is there still a planned SM3.0 features patch? That adds all the VDM and HDR and stuff? I'm really excited about that

I wonder if OpenGL works well with the 1.2 patch. Other than a few weird rendering glitches, OpenGL runs a heck of a lot faster than Direct3D. Anybody with the patch willing to test this, or do I have to wait until monday?

No visual improvemrnts??????

What about that video footage of the beach with all the glistening pebles that were supposed to be implemented with SM3.0???????
