Default tv-out HD480i and 4200

The new drivers work well for me except for one odd problem. Using the same XF86Config-4 file the on board video of my msi k7n2gm the tv out works with NTSC-M and HD480i at 800x600 or 640x480. With the Ti4200 I can not get 800x600 to work with HD480i (I just get a flashing white screen, and 640x480 is to small for MythTV (I get a 640x480 screen but a virtual size of i guess about 800x600. Moving the mouse cursor to the edge of the screen pushes it across to revel the rest.). The other problem with the 4200 is that when using NTSC-M over scan does not work. I normally use a 0.6 with the on board video, but with the 4200 anything from .1 to 1 has the same effect of being to much overscan and no change in the amount of overscan, where a 0 does just that, no overscan and the screen is not filled. Odd. Bellow is the Monitor section that I am currently using with the built in video. This works fine. I am outputting to a Sony 32 Trinitron TV. It is about 7 years old, and I do not know how to get the scan information for it to try and tweak the mode lines in case that is the problem. The 4200's output is just so much better than the on board video, that I really want to get it working.

Default Re: tv-out HD480i and 4200

The current drivers have problems with tvout. Problems include that for some people PAL doesn't give problems, further tvoverscan isn't working, 1024x768 isn't working and there are more problems. I guess your issues can be placed under it too. Switch for example back to the old driver. Further about tvoverscan it can be adjusted fine using nvidia-settings. (it also works from the commandline and it has some config file you can load)

nvidia-settings with the 4200 does not work for adjusting overscan. So if there is a problem with that, then I guess I am out of luck for now. the 4200 with the old drivers would not will the tv to the top. It left a black inch on my 32" tv, and overscan would not help. I never could get rid of the black line at the top. The new drivers fixed that, and I really want the interlaced modes. They look great with the on board video, but the image quality is much better with the 4200.
