Yeah, I was using IE as well. Works fine with Mozilla.

Odd, the js code is basically identical between Halo (which works) and some earlier images that do not. I first thought it was case sensitivity in filenames since this is an Apache server on Linux box. Hmm, still looking into it.

EDIT: Ok all you IE users ...problem should be fixed now.

Unfortunately, the .shtml stuff this site uses won't even load up in IE when I tried to test out my pages/layout. Whenver I would try to open a page in IE, the page source would come up in Notepad. I had to use Mozilla for testing, and all my stuff worked fine there.

In any case, thanks to all for their kind words. As soon as I garner up some free time I'll get right to work on the CPU scaling story. I did an inital run in RTCW: ET with the P4 EE. 1280x1024, no AA/AF (where we saw a CPU bottleneck) scored nearly 93 fps compared to the 82.5 from the 3.0c. That's an encouraging start, but I can't really say if that kind of increase justifies the very steep price premium of a P4 EE over, say a 3.4 GHz Prescott or Athlon 64. Stay tuned!

From what you’re saying the GT sounds like it has "acceptable" noise levels. Also, since you have both the X800 Pro and the GT, which one do you prefer and why? I myself have come to love Nvidia's drivers and game compatibility
Yes, I recently put my two systems back on a switch so they're sitting pretty close to each other and are easy to compare. The only real difference I can tell between the noise level is when booting. The GT revs up the fan on boot and it drops back down once windows starts. At that time, it's louder than the X800 Pro and I can hear it above the system noise. Other than that though, I can't tell a difference and both are quiet. I haven't compared them with the case open though to see which card is actually louder with no external factors masking what noise they cause.

Hey Sat, do you have any pics of your GT's core cooling method? I'm very curious to know if it is Arctic Silver caliber thermal compound or a lesser quality variety.

I like that review because it kept it to the point with a good number of games with a few resolutions in each game keeping the charts clean and very easy to follow. NICE OVERCLOCK SAT! Maybe, if you get a chance, go into core overclocking and memory overclocking separately. This is turning out to be one awesome card Nvidia put out is the bottom line.

I want to reiterate that I really appreciate everyone's feedback. I've at least done some inital testing on the whole overclocking thing. And I wanted to let everyone know about this:

I did not test 3DMark in this review. However, I did bite the bullet and install '03 build 340. With my OC set at 424/1120, Mother Nature locked up hardcore. At 420, I noticed some shimmering/sparking. Lowering the core down to 418 seemed to resolve all problems. I re-ran my RTCW test at the same speed. Extrapolating my results from it because I had upgraded my CPU at the time, my calculations showed that this slight decrease in core speed cost me a whole 1 frame per second. With the frame rates this card churns out, I'd say that's statistically insignificant. But I still felt it was necessary to add this.

That's interesting, I'd say our cards are 'brother's considering the experience overclocking it you have. Your final results are almost exactly like mine, though I still get some 'sparking' on the turtle shell at 415, most people might not even notice it (I never did till I started really paying attention to the shell). In the end I'm rock solid/no shimmer/sparkle at 410/1100.
Hey,
have you noticed white a white dot or small line that flashes during the Far Cry loading screen? I was told this is artifacting, is that true? It's very quick, and just a flash of a white line about an inch long, or a white dot, during the Far cry loading screen...Anyone notice this?

I have noticed this and it happens to me at stock speeds as well. This is normal, nothing to worry about.
