Did you try the new ALC 850 CODEC drivers [WDM A376a] they are a lot newer than the VIA/NF3 drivers that come with the M/B.

On my side i finally suceed to fix all the freeze at 100%. Now i run without fast write, but with light oc only, i could hardly go after 420 / 1200 or test fail. I have also putted back an old driver like 69.83 because i have a very huge framerate lost between the old 6x and the latest 7x forceware (about 40%).

I have also read about someone fixing freezes by increasing the video card voltage by +0.1 (on a 6800 gt) in the bios of the 6800.

I've got a BFG OC GT, which is supposed to run at 375. I get freezes at this speed however. If I run at the default 350 speed all is fine.

That would be me sir. I don't have any more freezes at stock speeds with fast writes off but if I overclock at all or turn fast writes back on it is freeze city.

Actually the default speed of a bfg geforce 6800 gt oc for the core is 370. Not 375.

Is your card running on the agp bus just fine? If you could tell me if your k8t800 via board works just fine in all of your games, especially BF2, then I'll probably get a via board. I need some via people with k8t800 chipsets to tell me if they have any problems gaming with the chipset. Thanks in advance.
Sorry for the late post, but I can assure you, everything is OK! Even BF2! I haven't had a single issue with the board!

for that you need to change your video card and your motherboard, it's a little expensive

Just chante the motherboard for a "via" one will fix it

I am fine now with my nforce 3. Agp fastwrites off with my bfg geforce 6800 gt oc default clock of 370/1000mhz.

Demanufakture,

I have almost the same exact system as you have (Chaintech VNF3-250 and BFG 6800 GT OC) and I am experiencing the stutter bug. I even just ordered another motherboard as I am fed up with this problem (I went back to my Radeon 9500 pro for now). At first I thought it was the BFG card because I was running the 71.89 drivers just fine but I was getting a lot of BSODs so I RMA'd it with BFG. The replacement card had the stutter problem immediately, however, if you're saying that you're not having any issues, perhaps the problem is with my BFG card. On the other hand, the people who have switched to VIA seem to have no problem either. I ordered a Uli 1689 chipset mobo so hopefully I won't have any problems with that.
