Did you try that with or without fastwrites cause while I don't get stutters I do get those flickers at about the same timings with fastwrites on.

With fastwrites off.......

Try to play your games for a bit over a hour to see if you encounter stuttering. It increases the chance you will get them, not saying they can't occur in the first 5mins or 1min though. Sadly these drivers don't fix the nforce3+6800 stuttering issue.

The only absolute fix that will work all the time is a VIA based motherboard like the ASUS A8V Deluxe (which I switched to over 2 months ago from my MSI Neo 2 Platinum) or an ATI video card. No stutters or pausing in any game with any of the newer drivers or settings. What works today on a NF3 motherboard and 6800 combo may not work tomorrow, or with the next set of drivers, or a different D3D game. It sure has been fun not to worry about this problem anymore and just play the games. Maybe someday I will find a use for my Neo 2 Platinum.

81.84 doesn't fix it for me too. No big deal since I'm in the process of upgrading my system because of this, and some issues I'm having with my MB.

christmass is not so far

I have tried somes beta 8xxx drivers somes days ago , have win maybe 5 to 10 % in 3dmark05 but was still having the stuttering so i am not very surprised.

By the way i have just tried the 77.76 for severals hours and i found them not so bad, i have one freeze generaly after game start but nothing after 1 hour of play, i have tried also alt + tab and no freeze when i come back. This .76 seems not having displays bugs on my games it's a beta version but the official .77 make me big stuttering / freeze.

The 81.84 driver seems to have eliminated the stutter for me. I played at least 2 hours of three different source games and didn't get a single freeze. I did have to turn off fastwrites otherwise I got flashing and artifacts.

I've logged about seven hours of Battlefield 2 and haven't stuttered once with the 81.84's (fastwrites off).

Looks like it worked for me.

(Soltek Nforce3 250 motherboard, BFG 6800 GT video card.)

It fixed the stuttering problems for me too when fastwrite is disbabled.

hmm I gotta try this. I'm too busy with classes at the moment, though, to do a thorough test. And quake4 is 2 weeks away which is going to be stutter free anyway because it's OpenGL. I still want to play Brothers in Arms, though.

Short tests with 81.84 at 1st reboot was good but after somes minutes of play freeze are back, especially in somes game like Soldiers WWII and less that X2
