You know with what we all payed for these cards we should not have to go thru this!!! We just keep buying them knowing the issues. They really don't care as long as they get there money!! It would be nice to know, and comforting to think they were trying to fix the issues.

Is the stop n start freeze issue being seen on the nforce4 chipset? I know this problem exists mainly with the nforce3 but wanted to know if the exact same issue is happening with the nforce4.

Yes it is.
I didn't get it until yesterday when I got the Gigabyte SLI board...was working perfect on non-sli Gigabyte.

Nothing else changed...very annoying.

I solved it for me. Not sure if its the end all solution for every system, but I am happy.

Dropped HT speed in bios from 1000Mhz (5X) to 800Mhz (4X) and now its running great, just like my non-sli board (it could only do 800Mhz max).

No freezes at all anymore. Maybe it will work for others also.

Just one question for all, are you using norton systemworks or internet security? because i uninstall both and all my freezing problems stoped. My rig is fine now, strange.

wth is going on!!! there are so many things it could be. i have tried dropping from 800MHz to 600MHz HTT, it DID NOT work.

and, listen ALL to this, really strange:

i can turn my computer on at 23:00, it will freeze at ~ 01:30
i can turn my computer on at 15:00, it will freeze at ~ 01:30,
its always at the same god damn time!

and, more strange:

i went to bed and left my computer on, i turned the monitor off, BUT i left Command And Conquer Generals running, i left the computer running the start up scene and it DID NOT freeze. ok, so it went past the 01:30am mark with the game running, and then i didnt turn it off for the next day, continued it running and what the HELL happens when it is ~ 01:30 - DAMN FREEZE.

it seems as though my computer PREFERS more work, the less the work (i.e. when i leave the computer on over night in DESKTOP it will crash) the more likely to crash. it is REALLY pissing me off.

tonight is the night where i test for sure. i am waiting for my computer to freeze, when it does, i will restart, and when it freezes again, i will swap to my old 5600std and see if that freezes, if it doesnt then, its probably the card (and i will get NV Silencer 5). but, before that, i may do BIOS upgrade

PLEASE INPUT PEOPLE thanks.

I remember somebody stating that changing the 3D and low-power 3D voltages to the same fixed his problem. He said that by using Rivatuner to monitor voltages he could check right after teh freeze happened to see what happened.

I now have Rivatuner and found the monitoring mechanism but it always says my voltageID is at 5. My 6800 Ultra core runs at 1.4, not 5.

Can somebody tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it?
