Who knows. Perhaps. EYE-T electronic are certainly not big name brand. In fact I have never heard of them, which is not a good thing.

It really boils down to this, I think. You can either (a) buy a PSU no-one have ever heard of and take your chances that it will be OK or (b) go for a quality PSU from a name brand. Brands I would trust include:

Antec
Enermax
Fortron
OCZ
PC Power & Cooling
Tagan

Thats it. I am out of tips now. Sorry I can't help any more.

i had really good luck with ultra psu's
and now they have the X-connect version
i have a 400w i used for 6 mo for 39.00 on sale
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...510&CatId=1078
not bad rails on it either, hd heatsinks too
but i wanted more power
and being addicted to upgrades
4 case fans,92mm tornado for the cpu
lights,sata hd's,fan controllers.2g of ddr 550mhz
and a 6800U i had to get more power
i bought a antec true power 550W for $102.00

oh and the ultra 400W worked absolutely ok with my 6800U
but i did buy the newer psu before the rest of my upgrades

Just a note about a 6800 in an SFF PC. After 2 months the 6800nu works flawlessly with a tiger power 200w psu w/ 12a on the +12 line.

3 names in PSU's:

1. PC Power & Cooling 510 deluxe

2. Ulta X-Connect 500 ( I have this one)

3. OCZ

Antec is a good name but these three are much better. Also, I Initially went with a Thermaltake 550w but it only had 18A on the 12v rail. So, I upgraded to the Ultra and haven't looked back.

I'm building comp with the following hardware:
Gigabyte MB GA-K8NXP-SLI
Kingston KHX3200K2/2G Memory Kit
AMD Athlon 64 FX-55
BFG 6600 GT PCI Express SLI Ready (installing two cards)
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200 GB SATA/150 16MB (installing 4 with SATAII config)
BenQ DVD R/RW 8.5G double layer
Case: Raidmax Scorpio Series 868 Bought extra fans for a total of 7 fans. (Now here's where it becomes tricky. The case came with RaidMax KY-520TX ATX12V. with 420w output. With all the hardware and GCards installed I was afraid that I would not have enough power so I bought a Ultra 31312 ATX PSU 600w. it has 20 pin my mother board has a 24 pin so I bought the attachement that will convert it to 24 pin to motherboard. I was reading post on this Forum and cases where people had fried their hardware with 600w power supply. Could someone please help....I'm afraid to plug it into wall and fire it up.

NVIDIA recommends a minimum of 350W power supplies for basic NVIDIA SLI setups. For systems with GeForce 6800 Ultra or for basic systems that are ready for future upgrades, NVIDIA recommends a power supply with a rating between 500W and 550W or greater.

You should be fine with the two 6600GTs as NVIDIA recommends 350W to 420W for a 6600GT SLI setup. You can view NVIDIA's list of certified SLI products but PSUs are currently not listed: http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_ha...certified.html I would suggest contacting Gigabyte tech support with your concerns as well.

Yes, the only difference being the amps on the +12 rail and the Modstream does not have adjustable pots(ability to adjust the voltages on 3.3, 5 and 12).

hi, there you all GOD BLESS, o.k. let get down to it. Alot of companies tell you that you need at the lease 400/450 watt psu and some of us meaning you not me, if the shoe fits go pass that point and shell out the big bucks for 500/ 550 watts PSU ect. and now find out that the psu have Changed due to a new reg. and so on but the truth is that 350/watts is all you need to run today,s computers more watts more money you pay on your electrical bill it,s a market and the more you buy the better it is not for you but for them. That,s the bottom line money. all the new things that was add to the new psu I do not need at this point for my pc and so why should I buy a psu because it,s the new kid on the block. something to think about for us that are APG/PCI/SLI.
