Default Re: GeForce 6800 power supply questions

Hi people,
I have a silly question.

You know how the 6800Gt has ONE molenex conncetor and the 6800ULTRA has TWO molenex connector?

When I run my 6800GT@ultra speeds - does it run exactly like an ultra, eventhough it has only one connector? If so, than why do the ultra need two connectors?

I have powerful enough PSU to handle that - Tagan U-22 480W

thanks!

Hey guys, I have a stock HP Model A1129N. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...name=c00389436
There is the specs. The only thing different about my computer was I upgraded the RAM to 1 gig. I am in the procoess of upgrading my video card to a 7800GT and the power supply right now is 300. I was just wondering if I will be ok with that or should I get a new one? Thanks

Can you see what brand the PSU is? You might want to invest in a nice 400w unit from Fortron, Seasonic, Enermax, and the like.

I think that the power supply is made by HP.

It's not going to be enough. And be careful when selecting a new power supply as a standard ATX one may not fit inside the case. You may want to consider buying a new case and transplanting the innards to it. That way you know a regular power supply will fit.

+3.3V Voltage : 3.25 V
+5V Voltage : 4.97 V
+12V Voltage : 11.07 V

This is with a 580W PSU... BFGTech GeForce 6800 GT OC...

Had this problem a while. Already sent it back to BFGT for repairs. Came back with nothing changed. Any advice on what to do would be awesome...

i have an evga 6800 agp 8X, and i just got it, but there are lots of artifacts, and looks like peices of level, and random lines going through oblivion, is this a power issue, or a faulty card???

Your +12V is way too low there. Are you sure your PSU is allright?
