Actually, Mechassault 2 pretty much fits the bill of a Mechwarrior game done with modern hardware (nice lighting and bumpmapping and such). It'll probably be more "arcady" like Mechwarrior 4 was, but still looks like it'll be pretty good. Still, would be nice to see Mechwarrior 3 redone, I thought that was one of the better mech-sims out (before the Mech series went more action-oriented). Although, if you want a REAL mech-sim, there's Steel Battalion...

Actually, where the hell DID all the mech games go? I remember a flood of them back in the late '90s, now it seems like there's only like 1 or 2 released a year. Guess mech-sims went the same route as space shooters and adventure games...

oh, snap, i forgot about avp (the first one, not the second). the first one had a scarier atmosphere, and a doom/unreal makeover would be schweeeeeet!

Oh, Mechassault 2 is an Xbox game coming out at the end of this year (like MA1 it's part of the Battletech universe, but similar to MW4 it's much more arcady). I just loved that game on the megadrive, great gfx (for the time), very inventive and would suit the doom3 engine wonderfully.
