Hi Guys,
I've recently constructed a PVR/HTPC and I'm trying to get myth on there. Unfortunatley I cannot use KnoppMyth so I'm looking at using plain debian 3.0 with a 2.6 Kernel. (Support for my DVB-t Capture Card). How the hell do you get sound installed and working on a vanilla net-inst install of debian with a nforce2? I've downloaded the drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/linux and installed them. I've tried MPG123 but it produces no audio, where to from here? Do I need alsa or anything else installed? Where have I gone wrong, what have I forgotton? Remember I'm using a stock 3.0 install with a 2.6 kernel, nothing more and nothing less installed. Quote:

Hi,
i got the same problem. I've also tried to build OSS-Support in Kernel as module. Read here something about to activate OSS but not to build a driver-module. At the moment nvsound uses soundcore module, as lsmod said. I'm using a ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe. I had to upgrade the BIOS so that I don't run into the APIC Bug. I have ACPI and APIC support on. I turned off the "enable apic"-option in bios. I got the same results. At the moment I'm at the same point as you. When I try to play something systemlog says: (mp123, xmms) Aug 24 22:43:52 trinity kernel: Nvsound: Set format as 10 Aug 24 22:43:52 trinity kernel: Nvsound: Value 7fff000d Aug 24 22:43:52 trinity kernel: Nvsound: fragment size 7fff fragnum d Aug 24 22:43:52 trinity kernel: Nvsound: Nvaudio_release The nxmixer App runs nice, only some faults when activating Digital output. Beside that my digital amplifier tells me it has signal on digital input. When I remove nvsound the signal is gone. Hope somebody could help on this problem.
