Hi!
I've the same problem here.

Toshiba satellite pro 6100 (i hate this laptop... too many problems!), "side band problem" with last nvidia driver ignoring EDID and using the suggested Modeline (but 1588x1200 instead of 1600x1200!!) or "broken" sceen Ignoring EDID without Modeline.

I'm talking about this in this post .

I think that the problem is that last nvidia driver ignore the option NVreg_Mobile=2 passed through xorg.conf.

Some hints are in my post.

Bye!

Yep, 6629 same problem.
Tried all combinations in os-registry file and xorg.conf file.

NV LISTEN UP, thanks for the historical support, but now it's time to RELEASE THE SOURCE CODE. or at least fix this problem

..same issue here. I wonder if this is going to be fixed on next driver release or ignored like it has been for the past 6 releases. Last driver to be known to work correctly (atleast for my toshiba 5105-S501 laptop) is 4496 version.

..plz fix this. thx

Just a me too. Geforce 420 go on a toshiba and all the same stuff last working driver for me was 4620 and old drivers no longer compatable with 2.6 is becoming a problem.

Anyone know if there is a good place to send a bug report to Nvidia??

I just sent a bug report to linux-bugs [at] nvidia [dot] com. The full email is available at:

http://fatooh.org/files/toshiba/nvidia-email.txt

I suggest running nvidia-bug-report.sh and when you email the log to nvidia, include the URL above and any other information you can add. It would be nice if this got fixed.

New driver just came out and same problems seem to still exist... I know the nvidia team has alot on their hands, and it's great that they supporting linux they way they do... but isn't it about time they fix "this" problem - this issue has been around for a VERY LONG TIME already.

- Version 1.0-7167 still same problems!

Ditto.
I'd like to get past kernel 2.6.9 and nvidia 5336, the only combination that works for me currently.
Thanks for the updates Zander et al. , but we laptopers need some of the love.
