Default IRQ 11 : nobody cares

I follow the readme (which asks to post bug reports here first), and will mostly follow that "read before thread", though I don't think my XF86Config will be of any help.

My system : Athlon 2400+, I can't remind of my motherboard, it's a VIA (where do I find this info?), video card is a "GeForce 4 MX 440 AGP 8x" (as told by XFree86.0.log). The usb bus is on a "VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller" I have 256Mo of RAM...

I run under debian sid, on a 2.6.7 vanilla kernel, patched with PWC driver (phillips webcams) version 9.0-b2. But previous ones had the same problem.
I use the Nvidia drivers 6106.
Xfree is 4.3.0-dsfg-4 but previous ones had the same problem.

THE PROBLEM :
When the USB bus is inactive for a certain time, in a range of 10 minutes to one hour, I have the following message :

irq 11: nobody cared!
[<c01067ae>] dump_stack+0x1e/0x20
[<c0107eab>] __report_bad_irq+0x2b/0x90
[<c0107fa4>] note_interrupt+0x64/0xa0
[<c01085e5>] do_IRQ+0x2a5/0x390
[<c010631c>] common_interrupt+0x18/0x20
[<c01030e4>] cpu_idle+0x34/0x40
[<c04646b5>] start_kernel+0x1c5/0x240
[<c010019f>] 0xc010019f

handlers:
[<c02c9110>] (usb_hcd_irq+0x0/0x70)
[<c02c9110>] (usb_hcd_irq+0x0/0x70)
Disabling IRQ #11

After that, all that is usb stops working. I can't use any usb device (my printer, my webcam, or a digital camera).
If I open my webcam and let it active, it never happens.

Why do I post here? Because if I reboot with the open source X driver "nvidia", without tainting my kernel, that doesn't happen. So I think the nvidia module is the culprit.

Do you need more informations? If so, ask.

(don't be too techical please, I'm not native english speaker)

MORE : uh! I can't manage to upload file (invalid file - I'm sure XF86Config is valid, I use it everyday!)

Please downgrade to Linux 2.6.6, there are known problems with 2.6.7 that match your description.

What does /proc/interrupts look like (with the NVIDIA driver loaded and X running)?

The NVIDIA card doesn't share IRQ 11, this looks like a kernel bug.

:S
I think the kernel guys will be mad after me if I report a bug that only happens when the nvidia module is loaded

It's not a problem with the nvidia module. I have a patch to the FC2 kernel that fixes this issue. It seems to be related to USB. Several people from FC are working on it, but no one has been able to nail down the exact issue yet. However, up to this point, it had appeared only to affect people running nvidia chipset based boards.

OK, so I'll have to wait for someone to fix that, then.
Not that it's a problem to wait. I've had the problem for quite a time now, and have found a (hopefully temporary) workaround (leaving my webcam on).
Thanks to everybody!

EDIT : nvidia chipset boards! No, I don't have one. Are you sure it's the same problem?

Same symptom. Don't know if it's the same problem. But that's why I said "up to this point".

I'll go and see if I can find about it on the FC lists (if I can find them...)
