I would do a whole review but instead, ill just give it an 8.5. The graphics didnt blow me away, neither did the sound, or the gameplay, or anything else for that matter. but it was still a good FPS game.

Not the sequel to Doom I hoped for, but a good FPS game on its own. I think i would have enjoyed this a lot more if i hadnt played it all before with Elite Force 2. The alien\demon enemies are basically identical in the two games(the sounds, monsters falling out of random places, jumping at you, shooting nasty stuff at you, slashing you). The scary scenes are the same (poorly lit areas, forcing you to use your lighting device, seeing monsters scurry around that disapear before you can shoot them, monsters feasting on people, lights turning off and monsters showing up). The "hmm i wonder if thats a hidden door" or "how do I get on top of that pedistal" exploration of Doom is GONE, instead replaced by the same thing that Elite Force 2 and many other games do(random, poorly hidden, predictable item stashes... which can still be fun, but it isnt Doom!). I know a lot of people will probably disagree, but I just feel like ive played this game before... the gameplay isnt original at all, and its not like Doom either.

Still good... just not Doom, or anything new.

Elite Force 2 wasn't the least bit scary though. While the scares become tiring in Doom 3, they were still pretty good while they lasted.

I also thought it was highly enjoyable, ID just seemed to get sloppy past the Hell level.

Ok. just finished it. Great game - worth every penny, expect to play again someday. Now back to COD.

Oh-no!, I just started playing cod and after killing about 20 baddies, it ended. Now I'm gameless.

Awesome game, just finished. Took me at least 30 hours. Maybe I explore too much, plus I looked at each video (some multple times), read all the e-mail. I will play this one again

. Wished I logged down all the numbers for the storage lockers and access codes

I thought Doom 3 was just overall a great experience. No, it didnt innovate gameplay, but goshdarn it, it was fun. The visuals were great too, and so was the atmosphere.

also, i've beaten it about 10 times...it's a classic in my book!

Just for laughs... I found Doom3 benched faster on a Geforce 3 ti200 than on a Geforce 5200!

I got bored right away and I'm not sure that I ever finished it. Walk down a dark hall, demon pops out behind you, kill it, continue down the dark hall, demon pops out behind you... Over, and over, and over, and over. So repetitive, so dark, so not fun. Blah maps, awful multiplayer. I remember being so excited about the game before I got it and so disappointed after I played it. Doom 3 was the first game I ever preordered and I don't think I'll ever do that again.

i am interested to hear why you didn't like the multiplayer? what were you expecting?
