I found this 3doom mod that I remember hearing a lot about when Doom3 first came out- but the readme is in some other language and I cannot figure out how to install it. From the screenshots it looks like it'd make the game look much better- if only there were english instructions for installing it.

^^^ I recall somewhere either on that page or in the readme something about 3doom- so just assumed that was referring to this mod. However, not being able to speak whatever language the readme is in I have no idea.

Screenshots look purdy, though.

I'm pretty sure this is it, installation notes are in english.

He also has a patch out, version 1.1

You could also pm him here. I don't know how often he logs in, but it's worth a try.

I'm going to reinstall D3 and try this myself.

Thanks bro! DL'ing now.

I'll try PM'ing him if I can't figure it out- but I get the impression he's not logged in for a while...

Makes the game look much better judging by the screenshots though. I think what I'm noticing about the characters in the game is they're extremely low-poly. Is there a mod that addresses that? If not, I think I can be satisfied with this one.

There was something a while back, but I don't know if the author ever released it. The screens looked good. Good luck finding it though.

A way to make DooM3 more fast paced is to use the flashlight mod so you wont need to switch between weapon and flashlight all the time. Will lose some of the tension though.

I'm not too worried about that- kinda' like it cause it's forcing me to play through the game slower and pay more attention to the finer details.

Just those low polygons, kinda' hard to over look.

The low polygons are really only a problem when you're dealing with human characters. For the most part, the creatures, weapons, etc. are all well done. Plus, in motion with cool lights, the low polygons are not really an issue.

Just enjoy the game

Tried installing via those instructions- and Doom3 no longer launches now.

Deleted local content and am re-downloading.

So, any idea on how to make the extreme quality mod running with steam?
