The floors in my installation of Doom 3 are almost black in most areas, is that supposed to be that way? All I know is that when you enter the area for a Bio-scan, the area you stand in is supposed to show red. It shows black. I have tried to adjust gamma and brightness as well as change video drivers to no avail.

Pics are always most helpful. Corrupt data on HD? Mods installed goofing things up?

When I first played the game, there was one set of drivers which messed up some floor textures. Of course, that was like 4 or 5 years ago, can't remember all the details now

Darkness in any game can not compete with the darkness of mind....and a directly attacking enemy is better than a backstabbing friend...

However, check this out, hope this helps.... read the "tweak the gamma" section

http://techreport.com/discussions/7133

In case the page goes missing pressing crtl alt ~ brings on the console and you need to type

r_gamma 1.2

default is 1

may go up like r_gamma 1.4
