After checking out some scores people get with benchmarking Doom3, I'm wondering why I'm quite a bit lower than average.
I set the options in control panel to 'application controlled', quality Doom3 @ 1280x1024, high quality (8xAF, no AA) Pentium IV 3ghz (Northwood) on P4P800Deluxe Directx9.0c + 61.77 driver Timedemo1 first run : 38.7fps second run : 43.8fps Seems a bit lower than it should be right? My brother has about the same system with a X800PRO and gets a higher score than I am (which shouldn't be right!) Any advice? |

Turn off VSync. That's probably what's doing it, it will limit your timedemo FPS as well.

Yeah something amiss, I get 55fps on the second run with my rig, you should easily be in the 50+ rangee on timedemo1.

timedemo demo1, 2nd run 1280x1024, high quality, no vsync, no AA 64.6fps looks a 'bit' better ![]() (also have my PIV 3.0gh oc-ed to 3.45ghz now) |
