Default Problem with dvi

I bought a new flatplanel screen recently. It has DVI input, which I'd like to use. My problem is that the nvidia driver seems to insist on using the VGA output instead of DVI. DVI works fine with vesa driver but that's obviously not what I want to use. I've tried putting Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP" to x.org config but it didn't help.

technical info stuff whatever:

Card: Geforce FX 5700 ultra
X.org version: 6.7.0
nvidia driver version: 1.0-6111

Thank you in advance!
