heh yea really, I think the mod creators are just trying to captilize on Trent's name, how could you put his music in there if he didn't do any & quit in the middle of development

Actually I got this from gamespot yesterday. I have been using it. Gamespot also said it was the Trent Reznor sound pack. Sounds a little better I guess. I got the link from ve3d.com. Now when you look at the post on ve3d it says the link was removed at id's request.

Gets even juicier this is from ve3d.com "Oh yeah, we took down that Trent Reznor Doom 3 sound pack link. Even though Gamespot got it from Trent, id wasn't too jazzed with them posting it, hence the nukage."

It's just sound effect replacements and I actualy like it better than the default sounds, except im not so sure about the chaingun.. heres a paste from the readme.txt:

"Description:
Were you dissapointed by the lackluster sounds of Doom 3? Do you want your pistol not to sound like a Nerf air gun? Wish the enemies made sounds that could actually scare someone? Long for the far superior sounds by Trent Reznor? Well look no further, for here they are! Well the pistol sounds a lot better now, but all they did was take the undead marine pistol firing sound and use it for the player's pistol (which should have been done from the beginning... whoever decided to use the current "nerf gun" sound must have been on crack... it sounds just plain bad).

The machinegun is nicer, id say.

The shotgun sounds too fluffy now (where it has too much crack originally). It needs to be a solid POP sound, like a real shotgun. Or at least make it like the original Doom... that shotgun sounded sweet

The imp... bleh... i dont know, sounds really generic now. I guess it doesnt help im in the caverns near the end of the game and im finally using this (hard to get used to).

The commandos scared the crap out of me though, they sound a lot more threatening. I cant remember what they screamed the first time I heard them with this, i think it was something like "YOU WILL BURRRNN!!!" and it was really loud, and a blood curtling deep yell. I was impressed there, I actually jumped.

Besides that i havent noticed much.

One thing Im irritated with though is that 90% of the sounds in the game are crammed into sound packages inside the sound folders, rather than loose waves as in the old games (which i loved... sound editing is one of my favorite things to do). Does anyone know if there is a way to edit those sound packages? I cant remember the extension, its like .sndtk or something like that.
