Default (EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (NVIDIA X driver not found)

Hello,
I've just purchased a GeForce FX 5200 PCI card. I'm running RedHat 9
kernel 2.4.20 on a Pentium-4. XFree86 gets the following error at startup:

Symbol __glXActiveScreens from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libdri.a is unresolved!

I've read through a bunch of the postings, but haven't found anyone else with this issue.

I used nm to look for the symbol through all the lib*.a file in /usr/X11/lib and its only occurrence was as a "U" type (undefined) in libdri.a

thanks,

Jim Akers

Remove the line Load "dri" as dri is not needed.

Thanks for that - at least I get a new failure now!

(EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (NVIDIA X driver not found)

I've attached my original config file. It produces the message above. The new one attached to the original post also fails but doesn't say why. It just ends after saying

(II) Initializing extension GLX

thanks again,

Jim
