I personally think hl one was the best single player experiance ever.

It introduced story telling through enviornments in fps's.

Removing the 'cinematics' and making you feel the u were not in control of the world around you.

somthing every FPS since hl has tried to recreate with only CoD and Doom 3 getting close.

HL I don't even know why people think it's a good single player experience. It's not that good in my opinion. Deus Ex had a great story, hl1 = suckage.

Hl stinks, deusex rules, hl story was pretty intresting but pretty standard at the same time, deus ex is one of the only non war fps where you kill humans, not monsters

We use to find this stuff attractive too. I remember the first time I saw Goldeneye on n64 my jaw dropped. After going back and playing it now I cant believe I use to think this game looked real. Imagine what it will be like 15 years from now when we look back on the games of today and say how ugly they looked compared to what we will have then.

I think unreal 3 will do it for me. I can't believe the life like graphics and fluidity of it.
