Question problem with device names in 1.0.6111

I am configuring Linux on Dell Latitude D800, with Nvidia geforce fx go5200. My nvidia driver version is 1.0.6111.

I need to have the computer functioning in 2 configurations: one as a stand-alone, and another with an additional screen plugged in. Because of that, the notion of what is the "first monitor" changes for me - according to the documentation, it will be my CRT if it is connected, but my regular screen if it is not.

Given that this is the case, options for "horiz sync" and "secondmonitorhorizsync" don't function all that well for me, they have different meanings depending on the configuration. According to the documentation on the latest version, I should be able to do this instead

Option "VertRefresh" "CRT-0: 60-120, DFP-0:43-90". But when I try this in my case,
I get this in the error log "Unable to parse range in VertRefresh string "CRT-0: 60-120, DFP-0:43-90" and nothing works after that. Anyone knows what the problem here is and how to get it to work?
