am i seeing that right? there's an alt mode of fire for the disc gun that lets you guide them like missiles to a target?

highly doubt it, since each server is only trying to host 64 people, instead of hundreds...

or did they keep it at 32? T1 and T2 never lagged uncontrollably for me, anyway...

No, it's a seperate weapon, kinda like frisbee shaped. when you throw it you can guide it for a limited amount of time before it returns to you. Pretty useless really.
