I have successfully installed the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run for my NVIDIA GeForce 5200 card on a Mandrake 10.0 system Everything seems to be alright --- apart from the font-sizes. At 1024 * 768 the fonts are so small, that they are almost impossible to read. I can increase the font-sizes of most KDE apps, but that doesn't help me with OpenOffice and other programs.
My monitor is a Packard Bell FT500 15" TFT Monitor. Its screen size is 362 * 346 (Millimeter) Interestingly, if I do a 'xdpyinfo --grep-screensize' it reports the monitor's screensize as only being 347 * 260 mm. This seems to me to be the core of the problem. Now the interesting question: How do I fix it???? I hope someone has a better idea, because I really don't want to end up having to use a magnifying glass every time I try to read something on my monitor. I suppose I'll have to add some sort of entry to the XF86Config-4 file, but although I read the man-page thoroughly I couldn't find a clue ..... ![]() Last edited by edgarK; 09-02-04 at 05:17 AM. Here the XF86Config-4:

problem solved. I just had to open /etc/x11/xdm/xservers and then add '-dpi 100' to the line :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X -deferglyphs 16. Now everything looks just nice :-)
