Samsung X10 pathetic FPS in glxgear

Hi,

Some months ago I used to get ~2000 fps when running glxgears, and now I get ~260/280 fps.
I have absolutly no idea why it is this way, glxinfo says that
direct rendering: Yes

This is on a Samsung X10 laptop (GeForce 440Go) using driver 6111 along qith kernel 2.6.8.1-ck6.

If any of you have an idea...

no, I switched to 2.6 recently with the 2.6.8.1. But I had the same problem wen running 2.4. I don't know exactly but I think I have this problem for some months, maybe 6 months.

I use X.Org 6.7.0 since it's in Slackware-current, yes.

try reinstalling the drivers because the X update have replaced your GL libs....

I've already reinstalled the drivers many times since updating X. Last time was just 2 hours ago since I installed kernel 2.6.9-rc1
