Mad kudos man!! Would have nvr known, just thought you played UT a lot You guys have done some great work over the yrs. Chaos UT was one of my fav mods for UT '99, rocked. Only mod I've played for 2k4 has really been RO, will have to d/l the latest vers of Chaos later tonight

Hey just as long as you give it a try, then that will be great...and no Q2 was just the begining Now you have a 3rd person melee combat, you can control your own proxies, the gravity vortex and turrets are back, plus much more.....

It was fun, nothing too exciting though...not what I expected from Tribes....is it me or does this game not have any personality? it seems so "generic"...

unless this game gets stellar reviews or recommendations i'll prolly wait til it hits the bargain bin

Yeah, it's hard for Tribes to stand out though when there are now so many great team shooters around. In Tribes' day it was the first of it's kind.

You know this is not only Tribes that has this issue. But many games. Now days you have many "WW2" shooters to pick from, CS clones are all over. As you said good team games are abundent. Its great that we get so many to chose from, however it also means that people will be spread out (ie empty servers out there)

Me, I'll stick with 'Planetside'. Tribes WAS all about team play. The team that worked together well always won, period. This game may well have an element of that, but the team has to come together on their own. No command interface, no waypoints, targetting lasers, multi-person vehicles (well, not like T1 and T2, anyway), etc.

When they say it 'feels like UT2k4 with jetpacks', that's what people are talking about. UT2k4 has teams in many of the match styles, but the team doesn't really effect the play style much more than having half the people on the map being those you shouldn't shoot. Maybe 2 people will work together to cap a flag, and cover the flag carrier, but it doesn't take more co-operation than that.

In T1 and T2, the *whole team* had to work together, or you could just forget it. T:V seems to have forgotten that - or, perhaps, intentionally decided not to pursue such a play style, since "Americas Army" and "Planetside" both do that style so well right now.

I think they may be looking at the common denominator more than anything else. Tribes 1 and 2 rocked in my opinion and are still two of my all time favs BUT apparently not enough other people felt that way or Dynamix would probably still be around.

It seems like the dev team is trying to appeal to Tribers AND to the UT/Q3/etc. folks in order to generate sales and popularity. I hope it works....personally I'm a big original Unreal/UT fan but UT2K3 and 4 don't really do it for me.

Tribes Vengeance beta however is rockin my socks atm and is #1 on my "To Buy" list.
