The project that provides these capabilities is called rivatv which is located at rivatv.sf.net. Further tvin isn't supported by nvidia as it is useally something added by board makers. The drivers from the rivatv provide some tvin support but it might not be very stable and further it doesn't work with 1.0-6xxx drivers as the latest drivers deny other drivers access to the videocard.

Finally I managed to install rivatv and xawtv. It really works. I can watch video from my video camera :-). But as always, some things didn't work. I can't capture images into jpegs or record movies in avi. I guess I'll have to wait for a more mature version of xawtv or rivatv.

xawtv dose not support the native video format (UYVY). The rivatv driver has software convertion (aka slow) than can let xawtv capture in any format that it wishes by using:
./configure --enable-software-conversion modprobe rivatv conversion=1 Or, just find a program that supports UYVY. |
