Whoa looks like Doom3. I just hope the guns are worth while and not the same re-ashes Doom had. Is it due anytime in 2004? I cant wait to run at 100mph gun in hand.

my god, whats with the whining? it uses the doom3 engine, and the screenshots are of dark areas. what the hell did you think it was going to look like? i think the models look more realistic than the d3 models. i hope those screenies were just beta/alpha pics, and the final version will use higher res textures.

Bahhhh I will believe those screenies when I see it. I remember back in the day prior to Q3 Arena's release they touted how you would be able to take your face and put it on the characters and all this other stuff. Plus they showed killer screen shots. And if I remember right the end game did not look much like those screen shots.. Call me a skeptic, but half the stuff in Q3A didn't even materialize that they talked about in the preview.. Just a bunch of hype if you ask me.

You're right about that. Whatever happen to those guys who were remaking some of the orig maps from old preview screenshots? Were they ever released?

Does Call of Duty look like Quake 3?

Does Half-Life look anything like Quake 2?

No? Didn't think so.

I did download the original screenshot maps, they were available, but they didn't play well, and I'm sorry but the game looked just as good as the pre-release screenshots. They were just from great angles and highly artistic. In the end they just simplified it a little.

Quake 4 looks awesome. I'd like to see some high quality screens soon.

Dude, you said to stop whining and asked what we expected the game to look like since it uses the Doom 3 engine which I took to mean that any and every game that uses the Doom 3 engine is going to look like Doom 3 becuase, obviously, any game that uses another game's engine looks just like that game (that's what I gathered from you).

So I posted about CoD and HL, both of which use other game's engines and both of which look nothing like the original game thereby nullifying your "theory" that if a game uses another game's engine, both games will look similar.
